Holiday Tours Coming Soon!

It's that time of year again! That means Peter's Walking Tours of Portland will be offering Holiday Walking Tours. Enjoy Portland's best art, architecture, urban parks, and retail areas on a fun and informative walking tour during the holidays. Along the way, you'll also discover Portland's past with visits to historical sites, where you'll hear some entertaining anecdotes.

The tours have been designed to focus on the Downtown area's best holiday displays as well, with visits to the Holiday Tree, the Gingerbread Kingdom, and the city's best window displays. Tours will generally conclude just as more than one million holiday lights fully illuminate the Downtown area!

Tours will continue throughout the season. Feel free to call (503-665-2558) or email Peter if you have a specific date in mind. Tours are great social events for offices, school groups, visiting guests from out of town, families, everyone! During each tour, Peter, a University instructor and a former middle and elementary school teacher, focuses on optional hands-on activities that will engage all the senses. He also customizes each tour to take in the needs and schedules of the participants.

Peter can usually coordinate a tour to coincide with other Downtown events, such as the Christmas Ships, the Tuba Christmas, and other Downtown celebrations.

Peter will also be offering special weekday tours during the school vacation in late December that will include visits to several historic buildings in the Downtown area, as well as holiday displays. On some tours, you'll even have a chance to view the city from a 300 foot vantage point!
